October 24 or 25th , Monday or Tuesday I was in the kitchen and noticed Mr. Young leaving in his car. He returned about 15 minutes later while I was still working in the kitchen. I went to the kitchen door and glanced out, still annoyed about the egg throwing incident the day or two before. Mr. Young got out of his car looked over at our house and threw an egg at it. I opened the door and glared at him so he would know I had seen it. I closed the door and mentioned to Andy to take another picture of the side of the house. Friday, October 28 Early evening I was watching TV in the living room and thought I heard something outside. I saw Mr. Young saying something to Andy and Andy turned and walked toward the side of the house. Andy came into the house and said now he's threatening to burn the house down. A while later Andy went out to finish chopping some firewood in the back yard. After a short while I heard voices in the back yard and went to the window. I could not hear what was being said but Mr. Young was making hand motions and extremely angry. It appeared to me he was trying to provoke Andy into a fight. As I went to the kitchen door I heard a bang or thud. I thought Mr. Young had assaulted Andy and I was upset and scared. He was just going into his house with his arms flying. The firewood bin was knocked over on the ground. I heard Andy say something to me but I couldn't hear him, everything seemed to be happening so fast. I just looked at Andy and said something like that's it, I'm calling the police. I went into the house and phoned the police. Officer Dickson came shortly afterward and we spoke with him. Mr. Young had shut off all the lights in his house. After Officer Dickson left it couldn't have been 5 or 10 minutes and the security light went back on. I said to Andy, I don't believe it; he's at it again. We watched as Mr. Young took a stick or pole and poked at the security light moving it. We watched as he did this several times. We decided to ignore it. Andy came home from work and mentioned Mr. Young was mouthing off at him in the driveway as Andy came into the house. Later in the evening the security light kept coming on. When I would check out the window I would see Mr. Young on our property poking at our security light with a stick. This happened several times thoughout the evening even though we didn't go out to reposition the light. I would periodically hear something hitting the house but ignored it. It sounded like he was throwing rocks at the house again. I went to the garage to take the car into town and noticed the security light was hanging over to one side. I picked up a stick to move it back into its proper position. The light just flopped over to the other side broken. I went into the house and told Andy that the security light had been broken during the night or early morning. I then left to go into town. When I got back about an hour and half later, eggs had been tossed into the garage. I had forgotten to put the garage door back down again before I had left. Andy and I discussed filing a report immediately since the security light had been broken. We had hoped to not have to contact the police since Officer Dickson was planning on following up with us on Thursday, November 3rd. I phoned the police dispatch noting that there was not a rush but we needed to file a report of damage done to the security light on our property, which was an ongoing problem that we already had been dealing with the police about. Officer Suzanne Cox stopped off a little while later and we discussed the previous nights problems with her. |
