As you can see in these photos the driveways abutt each other. The fence posts we are installing are actually 1 foot inside our property line. At some time, probably in the 1950's when these houses were built as a small mining community the porch on the house next door was constructed as a bit larger than that of our side stoop. Hence, his rental property driveway is not quite as wide as ours. For what's it's worth, the owner of the rental was informed of the problems we were having regarding his tenant and that we felt it necessary in order to protect our property that we construct a fence down the driveway property line. Even with the fence posts the owner who owns a truck had no problems staying within his portion of the driveway when he would visit.   |
